Tilia – Lime Tree in tea bags

Latin Name: Tilia europaea
Lime trees are abundant in Greek flora. Due to its sweet perfume it attracts bees. According to the Greek Mythology, the old couple of Filimon and Baucis where the only ones to offer hospitality to disguised Zeus one night. To show his gratitude he transformed them into an Oak and a Lime tree in their small garden so that they can be together in eternity.
Traditional uses:

• As antispasmodic

• To help digestion

• To increase sweating

• As a mild hypnotic, ideal for babies

Combine ideally with chamomile to produce a perfect sipping against the symptoms of cold
Available in tea bags and in non-pulverized form to be used as an infusion: Add 1 teaspoon of the herb in cup of boiled water and leave it covered for 30 minutes. Filter the infusion and drink it. Consume preferably with an empty stomach or 3 hours after meal.
