Latin Name: Althaea officinalis
Althea is abundant in the Greek flora, found in cool and humid areas.
Well known for its sedative and anti-inflammatory properties, is is traditionally used:
• As an effective relief against coughing
• Mild antiseptic for mouth and gum inflammations
• Antiphlogistic for the sensitive areas of men and women
• In pads or steam baths against skin inflammations (e.g acne)

Available in non-pulverized form to be used as a sipping: Add 1 teaspoon of the herb in cold water and boil it for at least 15 minutes. Consume preferably with an empty stomach or 3 hours after meal.
