Latin Name: Pimpinella anisum
Anise is known for its aromatic and digestive effects when included in food or drinks
Traditional uses:
• For bloating, flatulence and other mild sposmodic gastrointestinal complaints
• Relieves from cold-related cough
• To stimulate the peptic system in case of stomach disorders
• Spasmolytic in case of peptic system disorders
• Analgesic in case of tooth ache, especially for babies
• Analgesic in cases of menstrual ache
• Accelerates the absorption of bruises
• Breast ducts reliever in cases of inflammatory obstructions
Not to be taken in cases of allergy to anise and related plants (caraway, celery, coriander, dill, fennel) and for more than 3 times daily for 2 weeks.
Available in tea bags and in non-pulverized form to be used as a sipping: Add 1 teaspoon of the herb in cold water and boil it for at least 15 minutes.
